Went out August 4th. Caught tons of fish all within that 5-8lb range. Fish are healthy and super lively. Water was pretty mercy. Very good boat launch.

by Monsterlander on Mar. 6, 2019
Yes you can get on. It's been plowed out at the campground . Lots of snow drifts but they are packed down hard and easy to drive over . Might be a different situation if it warms up

by Bobalong52 on Mar. 6, 2019
Does anyone know if there is access to the lake since the snow a couple of weeks ago?

by Bobalong52 on Jan. 24, 2019
Been out twice the last 2 weekends. First weekend caught about 10 pike. Most in the 5 - 8 lb size. No hammer handles. Last weekend caught about 6 similar size. Approximately two feet of ice.

What kinda fish you been seeing. Fished this lake lots before the water outlet let loose. Would like to go back if the fish have survived. Always fished by the old farm house half way north up the lake. Big pike on tip ups

by Rodpuller on Dec. 30, 2017
On the lake today, 19 inches of ice. We see lots of fish, just not biting .

This is our go-to place this year. We spend hours out on the boat and endlessly catch 6-8 pound Pike and the odd laeger one. Troll near the weeds at about 14 feet deep and they hit with amazing regularity.

I was visiting Drumheller with my family back at the start of June. And we wanted to see how the fishing was around, and we didn't want to try the river because it was high and was as clear as mud. So we walked into one shop and asked this one lady if there was any good fishing spots around and she told us what places to try out , she gave us about 6 locations and Carolside was the one we chose, she said it was a bit of a drive but it was worth it. And it absolutely was. Almost every cast I'd have one go for it. At one point I saw four of them launch at the lure as I pulled it out of the water. And by the end of the day we had caught over 70 pike. And our biggest being over 15 pounds. I had lost and few spoons because I wasn't using steel leader. But the spoons we were using were called the Mepps Syclops, We used Daredevil red and white, and red and yellow Five of Diamonds spoons but didn't produce near as much fish as the firetiger or orange Syclops, we even caught a few on the Rapala Husky Jerk. Now were making a trip to go out with the boat. Hopefully it goes just as well.

I went fishing by the boat launch this afternoon for a couple hours. I caught a dozen pike. Most of them were small, but two were a nice size. The fish have really nice color to them as well. Look very healthy.

by iFish Guest on Jul. 7, 2013
Has anyone fished here recently? Is there anything left out there?

by Nick on Jan. 11, 2013
anyone chanced it there? anything left?

by Ilikefishing on Oct. 23, 2012
Looks like water level too low for fish to survive winter can now get salvage permit for Carolside too bad fishery will take years to recover

by Bobcat on Oct. 7, 2012
If they don't get the dam gate closed in the next few days everything will be gone It will take years to get the fishing back to the caliber we have had

by Peaker on Oct. 1, 2012
Carolside is a fantastic fishery. Always something, and sometimes its overwhelming. Carolside dam is leaking however, Saw it mysefl Sept 30 2012. Its loosing 4" per day. It doesnt look good. AB Envir should be doing something before the reservoir is empty. This will be hard on the fishery
