Purplesky I took a look at the stocking schedule and it was supposed to be stocked today.

by Purplesky on May. 12, 2020
I took my boyfriends Daughter a week ago she loved it there. I didn't notice a single fish so I'm thinking it's stocked this month? We would love to go back with both his little girls to fish. I wish people wouldn't take advantage of the limits such a shame when all we want to do is take the family

At Mount Lorette this morning (Aug 4)
by BrentH on Jul. 20, 2018
Lake isn't fished out. I was there in the winter and it was loaded with little brookies, rainbows and something else that wasn't interested in what I had to offer.

Beautiful place. They say it is stocked a few times annually. The ponds are shallow and the water is clear. We fished for a few hours and did not see a fish. Likely fished out by fishermen or birds.

by nict16 on May. 21, 2018
Can confirmed that it is fished out as of now. Not a fish in sight or any bites in a hour and a half.

by Birder on May. 19, 2018
It'll be fished out. I talked to an officer there last year and he said it only takes about a week after stocking before they are all gone. He said he caught a guy there with over 20 fish.

by Risi04 on May. 18, 2018
Went today. There is literally not a fish in there. Was supposedly stocked April 30. Not sure if it's already fished out or wasn't actually stocked.

by JlPritchard on Aug. 24, 2017
Almost everyone catching something.
by Jayjayjay on Nov. 5, 2016
This is just a small lake for the family and kids. No serious fishing here. Nice that you can stop by and catch two for supper tho!

by Bemoredog on Sep. 9, 2016
Went at the end of July and fishing was great. Kept my limit and fly fished some c and r for a bit. Went back tonight and the place seems devoid of life. Caught nothing. No nibbles. Nobody else caught anything either. Weather was windy, cold front moving in may have put the fish down but I think it might be fished out. Until next year I guess.

by dwright on Aug. 26, 2016
Firstly if you have caught and kept your limit you should be stopping fishing. Your done for the day. Went to the ponds today to show wife and saw lots of fish and people just bait chucking. The limit is two trout per license but they must have had 15 on a stringer by the shore. Please leave some fish for everyone else. It's really sad to see people keep so many. Just because you bring along all your friends doesn't mean everyone needs to keep their limit. Yikes such a shame should really be a catch and release only pond it's so beautiful and would be lots of fun if is didn't always get fished out. Anyways just my two cents needless to say we didn't bother fishing there were too many people there cleaning the place out.

by Bemoredog on Jul. 26, 2016
Decent fishing. Definitely switch to lures once you've caught your limit. The trout swallow bait deep. If this happens please cut your line and give the fish a chance.

by EthanAW on Jun. 8, 2016
That's great to hear, we'll need to continue to catch and release to preserve the population. Be careful when fishing with bait to reduce mortality!

by Mikee on Jun. 7, 2016
Whent there today with a friend who's first time to fly fishing. Few pools of fish, decent right now. You can still see few dead fish in the pond. Best place to fish is near the dead trees in the water on the other side of the shore. Have fun!

by ab trouter on Dec. 13, 2015
some days i catch 15+ fish and 16+ inches but other times i can barely catch one.

by YYCKidFisher on Sep. 22, 2015
It can be very different some days! i believe if you go there between aug 1st to the 20th you can catch a lot of fish! i went there 2 in june and dident catch anything! went there in august and caught 37. in total with two of us using SPINNERS! i hate using bait! but go there in august if what i can say! went september caught two like its different! but its a beautiful place!

Nice area. Nothing to catch, very little action in the water. Saw a few rising but no bites.

by CNG on Jul. 10, 2015
Was last stocked may 25th I believe; should not be stocked again this year (2 per year per pond I believe and I'd love someone to tell me otherwise)

by Jayjayjay on Jul. 10, 2015
Hey marklky that sounds like a good idea. Do you know if they are stocking this again because it's good for my 11 year old.

by marklky on Jul. 9, 2015
We need to remove that stupid log that blocks the passage to the 2nd pond. There are parts in the 2nd pond that has some really nice deep pools for the trouts to stay cool. Frankly, a bait ban would be best. The trouts swallow hard when they see baits. They often don't survive if it is hooked too deep.

by Jayjayjay on Jul. 4, 2015
Anybody know when their stocking this again?

by boyGalis on Jun. 18, 2015
Been here but no fish at all. We just enjoyed the nature and roller bladding beside the pond

by Gromdor on Jun. 13, 2015
I did a bit of research into where the hell the fish are. Apparently the fish are dumped into the main pond (first one you see from the trail/parking lot). But everyone says it gets fished out in 2 weeks. The pond is extremely shallow with no plant life at the bottom thanks to the flood a couple years back so they have nothing to eat and end up dead in less then a month if they aren't caught. Also found many people saying that they see asian people who don't give a **** about regulations catching and keeping 50 fish on stocking days. So if you can go there within minutes of them stocking the fish you won't catch anything.

by Gromdor on Jun. 13, 2015
Went there yesterday, the stock report said they put 800 fish in May. It's completely barren, idk what pond they dumped the fish in but theres little dams made by kids inbetween each pond that i don't think the fish can pass. Went around to every pond and didn't see anything. The top of the ponds were completely lifeless. I did see a great blue heren there so they obviously have small fish/minnows.
by boyGalis on Jun. 7, 2015
Went there yesterday and no fish at all

by mauricedaher on May. 25, 2015
Still no fish... spoke with the ranger, they would like everyone to catch and release to give the fish the chance to grow...
by JennaB on Apr. 24, 2015
Anyone know if the pond has been stocked yet?

by MarshM on Sep. 8, 2014
When I got there yesterday, lots of peoples were doing picnic, but no one was fishing. Few people came after, but all left within an hour with nothing. It looks like all the fishes were gone. No fishes were seen, no bite, no catch for 2 hours.

by Cajed1 on Sep. 8, 2014
Stocked in May with almost 2000 and it got another 600 end of June so what are you talking about 2 weeks. We live in alberta and it's a put and take lake, ya there likely all gone.

by Jayjayjay on Sep. 8, 2014
Wow I was there today and I have not seen one!! Can they be all gone already?!?!?! It's only been 2 weeks!!
by CraigJ on Sep. 7, 2014
Brought my kids to the pond while camping in the area. The bottom is littered with dead fish.

by Froggy on Aug. 21, 2014
They put up a sign stating limit of two. Hope it helps. Saw lots of small trout. Nice and clear could see 8 or 9 dead fish.

by Ryanasp on Aug. 19, 2014
Great wheelchair access paved paths and a few docks . Could see lots of trout. Only caught one with my fly but was lots of fun

by Mhmeester on Aug. 6, 2014
We saw the pond being stocked. My boys caught one each. Fun for them!!

by Froggy on Aug. 3, 2014
Watched people on the west side catch a bunch for around three hours before they started eating our power bait. Eventually started bringing the little guys in. We ate a few, my buddy put a bunch more back. Found a piece of corn in one, it was totally intact. I have heard they can't digest it still don't know but seems likely..

by Jayjayjay on Jul. 17, 2014
I meant to say do anybody know if they will stock this pond again?
by Jayjayjay on Jul. 16, 2014

Aug 13, water is clear and cool, no sign of fish other than one fingerling darting by near the northwest shore. Good spot for lunch, fishing?... Not so much

by Frankfishes on Jun. 23, 2013
Pretty sure all fish are gone. Was here during the flood and it was pretty much wiped out, the bridge to the far left pond was collapsing when I was there

by iFish Guest on Jun. 14, 2013

went fishing last year and the guy next to me had 15 fish. The other guy next to me was not catching anything. The guy with 15 fish packed up and was leaving with his fish. What I found out was the guy next to me was a undercover fish and wildlife officer. So walking out to the paring lot the fish and wildlife officer asked me to fill in a report. The officer said I might be contacted because the guy had a day in court. It is great to see these dirty guys getting busted
