any body know if the fish are still biting out here?

I don't go out often but I still enjoy a fish fry after a good day of fishing no matter the size of the fish

by Kripman on Feb. 10, 2018

I think you missed my point LOL. Perhaps your one of the guys who fish there multiple times a week and have their freezer full of 1/2 pound trout! My point is that people have to quit the abuse and help make fishing enjoyable for the next generation.

But do any of you know of any hot bites near to Edson?

Yes you guys have a point on thag to get better stocks.but you have to relize that people are doing it for food.and trout suffer from sevear stress which can make them die after wards

Most trout don't swallow the hook. They might however if you have the need to use bait to catch your Trout. Im sure most of us that C&R our fish would agree most of our catches are in the lip. We need more Quality Stocked Fisheries so ya a limit of 1 over 50cm would be nice.

Kirpman if you were better at fishing kinky and wildhorse then you would catch some big ones! Thers 3.5 pound rainbows in wildhorse and 4.5 pound brookies in kinky

why would you have size limits when most trout swallow the hook? and the government stocks fish for the purpose to be kept!

FISH OFF you say What a Shame? The Shame is actually all of Hintonites and whoever else that fish these lakes out and keep any small catch! It is discusting what people keep as they ruin it for all. We need more size limits and need fish and wildlife to enforce it! The seniors a few decades ago already abused and wrecked fishing for the younger generations (moreso streams / Bulls). Sorry for the rant lol. Just frustrating when I hear stories about the abuse.

You guys are all talking about WildHorse Lake... This one is supposed to be be for WildHorse 2 ( upper wildhorse) anyway fish and wildlife tested water this year supposedly and said it had really low oxygen levels. I ice fished it twice and not a nibble but heard some came out of there. Fished it today all day all around the lake and not a nibble...

by FISHOFF on Feb. 14, 2015

Ice fished all day and not a bite or fish in site. Use to be a good lake Until water level droped 10 feet... What a shame!

This lake is NOT dead as some have suggested. We fished for 3 hrs and caught 2 decent bows and saw many risers. This was the first time in 13 years that I fished here and glad to see it's still producing. Tight lines !

Use to be decent fishing...talked two two others that fished it and said it's dead now ... We went and never saw a rise... Very disapointing.

Lake is clean and clear. Shore fishing hotspot left of second boat launch gravel area down the beach ( closest to the caretakers home). Caught two 12" trout trolling by canoe in the middle if the lake.

Great for beginners. Small trout. About 3 pounds. Trolling up and down the middle you catch a ridiculous amount of fish.
