drove to get here for 3 hrs started fishing at 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon not a single catch. was really disappointed and for a 20 year old it actually lost my interest to fishing. not recommended going there at this point of time.

by Miller62 on Feb. 22, 2017

Anyone know if there is still enough ice to go ice fishing, after the warm weather we have had?

Star Star Star Star Star

by ifishingAlberta.com on Jan. 29, 2017

I git 3 rainbow yesterday and one had 5 baby carp inside of it about 2 inches long so the trout are doing there job but this means that the carp are reproducing wich is not good

Star Star Star Star Star

by ifishingAlberta.com on Jan. 28, 2017

Thats right throw or burn the carp because they are garbage fish

Star Star Star Star Star

by Flyfisher54 on Jan. 28, 2017

Does everyone know the carp are throwbacks? Throwback in the bush as far as you can, not in the water!

Star Star Star Star Star

by ifishingAlberta.com on Jan. 21, 2017

I hope you all know that you are only allowed 3 trout in your possession two may be raindow and one brook trout or 3 rainbow

How does the water look?

by Jayjayjay on Jan. 13, 2017

I go here and use a worm to fully cover a size 6 or 4 hook. I let it drop to the bottom and bring it up about 8-9 inches. Usually me and 2-3 friends will go and catch our limit in a few hours every time.

Anybody ice fishing here lately? Any luck?

Star Star Star Star Star

by Jayjayjay on Nov. 5, 2016

Yes. There are a lot of carp in there now and the Browns were meant to kill them off. I really hope they get the fish population up because I really enjoy bloow Indian.

it seems that the abundance of smaller fish (fingerling size) are keeping them all well fed. We kept a few bleeders rather than tossing them back to die, there were chock full bait fish? Weird, some we goldfish type dimensions, Persian Carp babies? Not sure, but slow for sure. Maybe the brown trout are eating all of the rainbows? Although I thought the reason for the browns was to eat the carp.

by CaptSumTingWong on Oct. 11, 2016

My father in law loves it there. Not this year. Not sure what the heck happened? They stock it to the hilt!

by Jayjayjay on Oct. 11, 2016

Very curious because I may do some ice fishing. Info would be very good!!

by Jayjayjay on Oct. 11, 2016

Is it just me or is the fishing at blood Indian really bad now?!?!

by CaptSumTingWong on Oct. 9, 2016

How is the ice?

Just to let you know I just came from blood ondian reservoir this morning, I caught a persian carp around 7 am then I put it on a plastic bag without water or ice. We left blood indian reservoir around 10:30 am, going to calgary. When we arive to calgary we went to a mall to eat and got home by 3:30 pm. We I got home to clean the fish, I was surprise that it was still alive and if you put it into water it can still swim.

A newbie at fishing here and I'd like to bring my sons, 14 and 10 to experience it. Do we need fishing licenses? What kind of bait to use? Rod and reel good enough? What time of the day is the best time to go fishing?

Was out for the derby today and fishing was great! Had good luck both with Worms from shore and Trolling Mepps in the Boat. Anyone stick around to see what size took the Derby?
