I'll be going out to the lake this Sunday. Anyone know where the trout are this time of year? And the average size in the lake?

No ice fishing. Lake is a beautifull mountain lake but beware when the wind picks up you better be close to shore!! There is a bunch of nice tent camping sites close to the waters edge. Bring your camera for stunning mountain/ lake pics... Fishing is hit'n miss. Most lakers caught are a couple inches under legal limit. Motors are aloud but i think there is speed limit. There is rv parking too. A few close to lake but not really good spots ( typical Alberta).... There are nice stalls to park rv but you have to drive or hike to the lake. Pain in the but not sure why campsites weren't built close to water with a beautiful view?? Hiking n biking trails in area but watch for bears and cougars. Road in is long and all gravel. Usually washes out in the spring...but otherwise road is pretty good just use caution. No quading because it's in a park.

Am I aloud to go ice fishing on this lake??

by Darren 45 on Dec. 12, 2014
Check the regs, no ice fishing on Rock Lake if I recall. It has a finite season. It used to be allowed years ago, I'm told it was pretty good then.

Does any one know if the ice is off the lake yet? I want to try and fish it next week and its a long drive to get there. I would hate to go all that way and there still ice on it. If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. Thanks

There used to be a sign saying electric motors only but I didn't see it this year. As long as your not 'rippin' it up across the lake you ll be ok. Just be respectful

Would anyone know if there is an engine size limit on Rock lake?

by iFish Guest on Jul. 14, 2013
10-15 feet of water tops. They were rising quite a bit. I fly fish so I had all surface action

Hey thx a lot for the info Iam heading there at the end of July to try it out.. Goin to do some downrigging. I'm thinking of gang trolls and spoons or body baits not to sure... What depth were u finding them at?? 65'?

Yes you can get a trailer in there. You ll have to go verrrry slow. I was there Saturday and Sunday. Fishing was decent, caught a couple lakers about 14 inches. They supposedly grow to around 22 pounds in there. Don't forget about the pike, I've never caught one but apparently they re monsters

Fished for a few hours. Only seemed to be fish in a small area by the feeder creek. Didn't catch anything but people around were catching decent fish.

Is there any shore access where one can have a reasonable chance for success? Will also have the canoe with me but will be nice to chuck a few during lunch etc.

Fished on may 20th. Fished all day caught 6 lakers and 1 pike. None were big enough though had to throw them back. Was a fun day.

Fished in the afternoon for 3 hrs. Saw lots of fish on the fish finder right by the feeder creek but not one bite. Seemed to be no fish anywhere else. Bait ban in effect

Was there two weeks ago. There at all depths but mostly down deep. 60-70 feet on bottom. Bring some heavy glow jigs.
