Good little lake for perch, biggest was 11 inches in one weekend also caught a 6 pound pike on 4 lb line, good for beginners, lots of perch between 4-12 inches going on Saturday Nov 20th 2021, will give ice updates

by 623065 on May. 17, 2021
Well fished 6 hrs yesterday caught only 3 fish biggest 62 cm poor fishing will not return

by khwest1 on Mar. 10, 2021
Fished all over Burnstick 2 days a week apart. Saw only 2 small pike on the camera. Not a single perch or walleye. The fish have mostly died off due to disease or maybe algae bloom. Don't bother fishing it for 5 years. Too bad - it was good for small perch fun.

It should read “six to seven inch perch”

If you like keeping 6-7%u201D perch this is the place. The wife and I kept our limit a few years back thinking we would make fish tacos from them, so I sat down filleted all of them and froze them up. About a month later we took them out of the freezer and were getting ready to make some tacos, I opened the bag and pulled out these itsy bitsy fillets!! Lol what a waste of time! This lake has always and will always be home to the baby perch!

by Monsterlander on Jan. 25, 2020
Hahaha.. I didn't intend to come of as being rude .. all I meant is there are very few keeper size perch in this lake that I have experienced . I guess it depends on what is a keeper to people ... but I would say 10%u201Dplus .i have got some keepers out of here years ago but not many ..lost the perch here are smaller and after going there in the summer a few years back all the fishing preassure can't help. As to where else to go for perch I would just go to Saskatchewan...

by MrShark on Jan. 24, 2020
Chill, people. He's saying perch aren't there or are hard to find. Nothing wrong with a little humor. No need to be insulted.

by Maraxus on Jan. 24, 2020
Yeah Monsterlander, why did you even bother replying? We are here to help others. Such an upstanding person with such a thoughtful and kind answer. Probably some 12 year old judging on that comment.
by White master on Jan. 24, 2020
Monsterlander...awesome advice, glad people are so willing to help other fishermen..

by Kalvin on Nov. 10, 2019
Just wondering if anyone has checked out to see if the lake has Frozen over yet and if so how thick the ice is. Thank you.

by MrShark on Oct. 10, 2019
Thanks, Zebra. It's much appreciated. I'll let you know when I reel in Moby at that spot.

by Zebra Muscle on Oct. 9, 2019
Mostly a boat lake but there are two spots that I'm aware of that are shore fishable. At the public beach / boat launch (not great...very shallow) and the north shore just east of the village boat launch. I'd go with #2. Drive to the village boat launch, park, and walk east through the trees until you reach the grassy clearing/knoll along the north shoreline. The water depth drops quickly there so with some long casts you'll be working 10-12' of water. I've has decent luck boat fishing that same area (pike on spoons).

by MrShark on Oct. 2, 2019
Anyone know how the shore fishing is at Burnstick -- meaning, is it walkable along the shore, or is it strictly a boat-fishing lake?

by Zebra Muscle on Aug. 19, 2019
Not sure what's going on this summer, but compared to the last few summers the pike fishing here is really sucking. Fishing the same areas (plus a few new ones) and not getting nearly the action. Trying all sorts of different lures presentations and none of them seem to be noticeably better than the others. Talked with other boaters and it seems everyone has noticed the same thing. Picked off a few walleye trolling though.

Around 2 feet of ice, half a foot of snow on top. Was out yesterday for 4 hours, no fish. Didnt look like anyone around us had any luck either.

by fishing in canada on Mar. 16, 2019
Mski, I honestly can’t remember got through without the auger extension just barely but there was a few trucks driving out so definitely safe, ramp down was icy even to walk it, there was a fair bit of snow on top to don’t know how much is left with the hot weather hope that helps
by Mski on Mar. 16, 2019
Fishing in canada, how thick was the ice?

by fishing in canada on Mar. 5, 2019
Was out the other day seen lots of perch on the camera all day but they were all to small to even hit the lures

by PaulT on Jan. 29, 2019
17 inch of ice, tons of perch 6 inch or so, didn't see any pike or walleye yet

by ScottW on Jan. 15, 2019
As usual lots of small perch. Was out last Sunday. The boat launch down was pretty icy, good thing that heave at that the bottom wasn't bigger!! Lol. Just a heads up. Truck basically slid all the way down, took a couple times to get back up. Noticed a few leave shacks on the ice. I would like to do that. Any opinions on vandalism in this area. I think for the most part people are pretty good. Just thought about putting a small shack out real basic. Anyone else experience the slide down and trying to go up?
by White master on Jan. 15, 2019
Maraxis. Its been ok. Nothing of any size but it is starting to pick up for perch and pike. Not sure on the Walleye havent seen anything yet. You can drive on the ice now 14 inches of ice.
by Maraxus on Jan. 14, 2019
So how has it been at burnstick? Anyone catching anything? I have never icefished there and debating about it
by White master on Dec. 28, 2018
Ice is abot 11 inches and about 10 in the middle.
by ScottW on Dec. 28, 2018
Ice good to drive on yet?

by White master on Dec. 27, 2018
The better perch are in the 30-40feet of water. West of the north boat dock. Fished 3 hours caught 24 perch took home 10 between 2 of us. And 1 small walleye.
by iFish Guest on Mar. 2, 2022
I was there February 23 and caught a 25 inch walleye. I was shocked. But the only fish on the day. I could see quite a few marks on the flasher but not biting.
