We hired Anchor D Guiding and Outfitting from Turner Valley to take us here last Thursday, I'm glad we did. Once the horses reached within 300 yards of the lake, it was hike time. The balance of the trail in became quickly more challenging and potentially dangerous. The final 50 yards was the most intimidating. Using the chains and a good pair of hiking boots made it a little less intimidating. Although the fish there are quite big, it was tough to get a good cast out due to the relentless wind. We only caught one average size fish, but the huge ones could be seen cutting just under the surface leaving a very impressive water disturbance trail behind. If you are considering a trip to this lake, I highly recommend Anchor D, Dewey is a very experienced guide, the horses were bombproof.
