Was out on sep 3 2021. Bad algae problem on the lake but in the cove by the bridge I caught a dozen small pike in just a few hours on the lake. Less algae in the cove.

My first time ever fishing this lake. I've been here 4 times this summer and caught one very big walleye and about 30 pike. I haven't tried for perch yet but there are tons of them on the fish finder!

Been out to this lake 6 times since January. Each time I have alway caught pike. No keepers but fun. There are some nice fish in here on the cam they are just smart and will not bite. I would say that anywhere is good to fish there is lots of ice and little snow so you can drive onto the lake.

This lake is terrible now. Used to take the kids and catch little pike all day, now your lucky to catch anything. Going to try other lakes in the area. Don't waste your time here.

And it obviously depends what you are bringing on the lake. Google ice thickness chart. It will give you a rough idea. As a rule, I usually don’t go on at the ice thicknesses it says because of variability, but wait until it is thicker. It is just a guideline after all. But it all depends on how comfortable you are I suppose. I know people that have no problem walking on at 4”, but generally, I’m not one of them. ;)

by Steve77 on Nov. 15, 2020
Ifishguest: Tough to say. I've seen some pretty variable thicknesses on this lake. Be cautious where the Sturgeon river runs into, and out when you do go. You may find the thickness there to not be what you see elsewhere on the lake.

Kayak fishing August 13 from 6:30-9pm. Several pike of varying sizes. Largest was just at 5 pounds. All in all 8 pike in 2.5 hours. Great night of fishing in this lake.

by wiseslider76 on Jun. 11, 2020
Great fishing tonight from the bridge. Caught 4 jacks and 1 walleye. Released all. Biting on minnows on pickerel rig.

Big Walley here, and since good sized Pike. I caught 3 ferocious pike yesterday and one really big Walley, a fun day here overall

Thank you to the gentleman who drilled a couple holes for my family. I'm still using a manual auger and the ice is pretty thick. We were in about 15' water maybe. No bites. Too deep. Heard a couple of celebratory whoo hops though.

by adam_gamble_outdoors on Jul. 15, 2019
Fished for a few hours the other day, caught one walleye on the last cast of the day. Big, healthy walleye at that. No pike caught. Water was full of algae.

by I h8 weeds on Mar. 17, 2019
Saw about a dozen different pike but they didn't want anything to do with my minnows. Tried several different jigs. The pike would just stare at it and swim away. Entertaining to watch but frustrating not to catch any.

by Fishizzle44 on Feb. 24, 2019

by Ride rank on Jul. 8, 2018
How's the water right now? Is the algae / weeds bad yet?

by Riverbear on Jun. 23, 2018
Lac st Anne is UPSTREAM and the river is DOWNSTEAM. Devils does hold a few rare big ones. Get a few keystones in some people and well...

by Slapshot12 on Jun. 17, 2018
Despite a lot of boats on the lake, caught a couple walleye including one of the biggest ones I've ever caught around here at about 20" long

by DEWEY01 on Jun. 9, 2018
Was out this morning from 6am until 1pm. We caught 20 pike from all over the lake but the two biggest ones we got were caught about 50-75 meters south east f the bridge. The biggest was 67cm and I was going to keep it but as I picked it up out of the water my leader broke and the fish got away with my curved 5 of diamonds still in its face. The fishing from shore is usually slow by the boat launch but you can fish from shore right at the bridge and there is always lots of action.
by wiseslider76 on May. 16, 2022
Lots of hungry little pike on opening day but lake water level is way down. roughly 4 feet lower than last year at this time. near bridge and down river is 1.5-2.5 feet deep where it was 6 or more last year.
