Alberta.fishing- was there on Monday and where I was had 20"of ice, fishing was... I got skunked, lots of perch and some pike all day on camera. But I spent most of my day trying for perch, all the little perch that were not much bigger than a minnow were all over my hook, but the bigger ones showed no interest. And had a few pike take my line but got off. Buddy caught a nice sized pike, 75cm and fat, 6.2kg which is close to 14lbs

How thick is the ice currently and how's the fishing been here?

by Verjario on Feb. 7, 2019

Lordofthefish- lucky for me using my fishing camera and my other rod I was able to fish out my rod and rod holder, especially sense that rod was only a few weeks old and $50 which is a little pricey as far as ice fishing rods go, and the rod holder is the berkley thicker more heavy duty ones that I haven't seen around anymore. Only caught one fish that day which was the one on the line of the rod that went under, but I was just happy with getting my rod back lol other wise would have been not only a bad day of fishing but an expensive one lol

Have the perch left Alberta. The ones you can see on the camera are not biting. Why?

by Captain Jack on Jan. 29, 2019

Lots of perch on camera. Light line and tiny, small jig with maggots. The bite is light. Hand line best. Fished in 30 feet of water. Caught 12 small perch. Took home 4.

Don't know what's going on with lac la nonne, 2 weeks ago we had close to 20 jack in the day, last Sunday had 10, and today 2 between me and buddy and the perch all over the camera but just not biting on anything we try. And my own stupidity I didn't put enough weight in my bucket and a jack took my whole rod and holder down the hole, but luckily for my camera and had auger to punch a couple extra holes I was able to fish them both back out with my other rod lol, and the best part is when I fished my rod out and got it out of the hole, the jack was still on my line, and that was the only one I caught all day. Otherwise I probably would have had been skunked today

Still good fishing in this lake again this year, a bit of a slow start getting here at 7:30, but came noon and got 4 one right after the other, just setting my one rod in the water and setting the jaw jacker and they are hammering the bait before im even finished setting it. Nice size to average about 8lbs 63-66cm

by Tkachanski on Jan. 18, 2019

I live in camrose and have fished driedmeat for years..... and years and years. Have never seen anyone catch a walleye there, nor have I ever seen one on camera.

by redneckfishnalbertan on Jan. 18, 2019

And dried meat has walleye even though it's not on the regulations. I might even hit lac sante in the storm for burbot I'm up in the air about where I'm.going but I know I have to go fish this 3 day not on ice is driving me into watching soap operas with the better half

by redneckfishnalbertan on Jan. 18, 2019

Yeah bud that is right and it is me .lol small world . I'm thinking of heading either to bangs lake or driedmeat tomorrow. Likes the idea of 3 pike at bangs lake and maybe the perch there are not as theiving lol.

Redneckfishnalbertan- is the entrance to the lake by willowbend resort the again this year? And are you possibly the same guy I was talking to about lac la nonne at the cabelas on manning telling me Abbott how you were fishing right in that area and the perch were stealing are your bait that's why you were picking up some smaller hooks for perch

by Verjario on Jan. 18, 2019

Fish regs say pike, perch, walley, burbot and I believe lake white. Though I have only even caught pike and in the more shallow had perch biting at my bait
