by maddog11 on Jan. 20, 2022

by Danny west on Jul. 28, 2021
Tons of medium and big rainbow .hard to catch with imposed bait ban .

by Old rookie on May. 5, 2021

by FlyWelder on Feb. 10, 2021
Winter killed don't bother wasting your time hwre
by iFish Guest on Jan. 20, 2021
Only partial winter kill. Took out lots of the big guys. Still lots of smaller trout in there but good luck catching anything big enough to keep.

by donchart on Nov. 17, 2020
That might explain why i caught so many over the winter (7 or more every time i went in January) and when i went in March/April....nothing...not one bite.

by Nobaddays on May. 14, 2020
Just a partial winter kill

by Jake14 on May. 13, 2020
Does anyone know if dolberg winterkilled??

by Nobaddays on May. 10, 2020
Ugh I though millennials were entitled. At least they buy fishing licenses.

by petetherocker on Apr. 29, 2020
the trout (big or small) won't spawn in the lake.

by charley on Apr. 28, 2020
I thought that it was the bigger fish that spawn???? so pray tell why you can keep the spawners government works in mysterious ways would it not make more sense to release the spawners and keep the smaller fish I am 79 years old is there an exception for seniors that catch fish as a food source clg400@hotmail.com

by donchart on Jan. 30, 2020
Just to add...catching on average 40-45cm

by donchart on Jan. 30, 2020
Great day about a week ago..lots of action. About 14" of ice

by Broadside94 on Nov. 21, 2019
Planning on heading out over the holidays. Any tips for this lake?
by 10 and 2 Harrison on Jul. 3, 2019
I see "I fish" is wrong. Only one fish over 50cm WHICH is AWESOME. Trout are awesome to catch and I'm glad were are getting some decent trout holes back. Still allowed 15 perch according to the regs. I kindly reminded some folks today that it is a bait ban lake.
by newfiehook on May. 25, 2019
I've been going to dolberg for about 20yrs. Have fished this lake every way possible. This is one of my favorite lakes in the province. Now they add browns and tigers, new regulations to protect the species and not allow certain people of families to sit on the dock and load a cooler full of 6-10" trout cuz they make good soup!! Awesome news for the lake! Heading out there in the early morning!! Cant wait!

by Cajed1 on May. 12, 2019
Great regulations, to make a trophy quality lake. If you wanna keep everything you catch go to Peanut or Shchuman. Quit your whining

by Silent but deadly fisherman on May. 10, 2019
Pathetic regulations. At least make it 2-3.

by Cedomil on Apr. 17, 2019
Has anyone seen how much ice is left on lake? Thx

by Stinkfinger on Mar. 8, 2019
Must be a zero limit on the jumbo perch now

by Stinkfinger on Feb. 26, 2019
The fishin Holes report says fishing is good
by Small-fish on Nov. 29, 2018
This is great news. Keep it fun for all.

by Dragless on Oct. 2, 2018
Annette b try Carson or shuman lakes both have docks allow baitfishing and are much better suited to ur style of fishing no big ones but if ur keeping to eat u do t want the big ones anyway right?

by Cajed1 on Sep. 29, 2018
New regulations & new species... Awesome news.
by Cajed1 on Aug. 1, 2018
Oh ya and I catch trout at Dolberg and all trout lakes with chucking gear, not flies or bait... You just gotta learn a new technique.

by Cajed1 on Aug. 1, 2018
You can still come to the dock and fish, so quit with the %u201Cpoor me%u201D act. & It wasn't just the Edmonton Fly anglers, a ton of locals including myself asked for this so we can continue to catch quality fish instead of having families and certain nationalities take all the fish before they even reach a size worth eating.

by AnnetteB on Jul. 30, 2018
Been coming here or 35 + years and have family who live in the county. We used to go to this lake as kids and catch dinner for grandpa. I am so saddened that my kids will no longer have a place they can sit on a dock and catch fish in alberta. We went here this weekend unprepared for he new rules. Why on earth did the government let a group of fly fishermen from Edmonton make the decision on who can fish here and with what. That decision should be based on what the locals want. Now its just a fly fishing lake because lets face it the way they re asking us to prep our rods is not he way an angler is taught to catch trout. My poor kids, have you ever tried o each a nine year old how to fly fish? Its near impossible. The introduction of brown trout and tiger trout will probably destroy the rainbow population. Just based of what i have read about the new species. And the introduction of fly fisherman from edmonton have destroyed the natural local populaion of people. I didnt see any off my friends this year and probably wont. Its such a shame.

Deathtoallah, Have you phoned the rap line or phoned barrhead fish and game? Dude, I hate, HATE poachers. I report all of the p.o.s cause that's what they are, nothing but p.o.s. If you do the same maybe we can prevent our lakes from dying. People seem to think the supply of fish is endless, it's not. It takes fricken years to re-populate a lake a millions of dollars. Everyone should be reporting all poaching activity.

by deathtoallah on May. 12, 2018
its really sad that most you people continue to post about dolberg as posting about it has done nothing but maybe it harder to fish, it use to be a gem until all these poachers started coming up there ive seen poeple continuously keeping coolers full of raindows well over the legal limit of day catch stop ruining lakes by posting you stories keep gems like dolberg secret

by Dragless on May. 9, 2018
Well imo this is a good decision due the productivity of dolberg but most lakes around here have the same potential, carson lake would make an insane quality fishery. The folks mostly Asian descent who frequent this lake will be disappointed, which they should be where else can they baitfish from shore other than carson.which the fishimg pair is insanely busy and you aret lucky to get a spot to fish. That stupid Whiteridge pond in blue ridge is a joke managed with quality regulations and you cant get a fish over 2 years old in there for some reason, make that place a shore fishing spot its close to town im sure the people would rather go there than all the way to dolberg anyway lots of room there for picnics and families...... come on srd figure it out lol

by Hardcor on May. 8, 2018
I get it. All our water ways need people to show respect and clean up after themselves. I have wrote more on that in reviews on other lakes and streams I frequent. I also pick up others trash and put it in the trash bins supplied or take it with me and trash it at home. But that is all I've got to say about that. As far as my prayers being answered.......again looking forward to bigger rainbows again in Dolberg similar to Muir that's it. Happy fishing to all, enjoy the waters!

by Haniel on May. 7, 2018
Good for you that your prayer answered. You should pray more that people will clean up the lake.
by Bullshields on Apr. 16, 2018
Lol get on a plane for a trophy fish. Dolberg will continue to be a litter box for city people

by Hardcor on Apr. 15, 2018
Wait a minute....I don't go to church but....my prayers have been answered! One over 19.7 inches and a bait ban great news! This is what Dolberg needed can't wait till 2020! Not that I keep any period unless foul hooked. Looking forward to a few great CPR days out there in the future. Catch Photograph Release!

by Cajed1 on Apr. 7, 2018
Still have been lots of decent fish but this should make the lake great again... no idiots on shore baitfishing and leaving garbage behind, less crowds and the opportunity to make a few $$$ calling in people to RAP that refuse to follow the new regulations... can't wait. A couple years and it will be prime again.

by Silent but deadly fisherman on Apr. 7, 2018
I mean 25+ years

by Silent but deadly fisherman on Apr. 7, 2018
I am not happy with the new changes to Dolberg Lake. I can blame the fishermen/women who keep any size they catch and ruining this awesome lake.. 20+ years, my favourite lake is officially terrible now...

by petetherocker on Apr. 2, 2018
