by FISHY-FINGER on Jan. 7, 2018
When did they stop allowing a keeper pike? When is this madness going to end? What's the point of buying a license if you can't keep a fish in Alberta?

by Grizcore on Jan. 2, 2018
I'll check the depth Wednesday Jan 3 2017 and post depth and any action found. heading up in the morning.

by Pjnova on Jul. 12, 2016
Hey that last statement might be true . Yaker you come off the wrong way . For everyone else check out ecoleeser , rocless. It's fixes this problem . I'm gonna order a few today in fact . Check them out !
by NorthernYaker on Jun. 30, 2016
Slayed is right, due to barotrauma a large % likely died, walleye should not be fished more than 30ft deep, unless keeping and in Alberta that just any happening.

by marywest on Jun. 17, 2016
How was the fishing today, Pjnova?
by Pjnova on Jun. 16, 2016

by jayden on Jul. 20, 2015
Anybody know where the perch are

by Mark on Mar. 1, 2015
Big jacks are just starting to feed . We nailed a 15 pound pike yesterday and had several smaller ones as well . Tip ups and smelts or herring are what they like . Happy fishing

by Mark on Feb. 24, 2015
Best fishing for jacks is early morning till about 10:30 am then from 2 pm to dark . They have been active today and I'm really enjoying the entertainment. Happy fishing

by Jackfish69 on Feb. 23, 2015
Pre Spawn Northern Pike are starting to stage up. Look for locations next to shallow spawning flats with deep water adjacent. Smelt with Tip Ups is a good way to go, I caught a 21.4 pound pike yesterday on tip up. I did have some great pike also smashing spot tail shiners on wire worms.

by Mark on Feb. 22, 2015
Been out on lake with tip ups and smelts for 8 hours only catching small pike and very few of them . Poor fishing today .

by Mark on Feb. 21, 2015
Tip ups with smelts are hitting but it's slow for pike . There gums are still swelled . Catching a few but all are small . I haven't seen any size in days . Lots of ice on lake and no more overflow

by Mark on Feb. 20, 2015
Pike are active . Hitting on tip up and smelts . North end of lake is hot but bring lots of bait . Lots of bait thieves
by Mark on Feb. 19, 2015

North end between second and third bay . Driving on lake in truck .

by Mark on Feb. 19, 2015

by Jackfish69 on Jan. 17, 2015
Ice is good varies between 15 to 19 inches. Pike are hitting tip up with smelt.

Has anyone been out ice fishing on the lake and if so, any idea what the ice depth is like?

by Kenraj on Sep. 7, 2014
Started fishing this lake on weekends, starting July 15th. Never been disappointed. There are tons of nice walleye all along the south east shoreline. Wife and I caught over 54 in three and a half hours. Get your jig on the bottom to avoid the pike. Enjoy!
by MattyHansen on Jun. 28, 2014
Pickerel (walleye) and Jacks love hanging out in these weedbeds. Plenty of action.

Heading out this weekend. Anyone know of some good hot spots for walleye/jack?

by Bobby.D on Jun. 23, 2013
Spent the weekend fishing this lake. Walleye r biting. Most aggressive between 7:00 & 9:00 PM. Overall the Walleye fishing is good right now. The bad news: there's already blue-green algae floating around on the lake.

by boxfisher on May. 21, 2013
Went out on the weekend and landed a lot of pike over 20 each daymost were just undef 63cm but geat fun caught them using spinner baits and spoons

by sagewh0re on May. 19, 2013
not a bad day, caught lots of pike on both fly gear and spinning gear. mostly hammer handles, a few bigger ones here.and there. not near as active as it should have been, 4 decent sized walleye as well

by Jackfish69 on Feb. 11, 2013
You can eat fish from this lake. However make sure to cook it properly. Have seen lots of tapeworm in the fish here.

by shelterless on Jan. 20, 2013
are you able to keep the fish from this lake since the blue algae in the summer

by Team JFL on Jan. 6, 2013
Ice at Baptiste is 12" thick, probed both the North & South sections of the lake. Fishing is picking up, for Pike and Walleye. Jig N minnow.

by KingFisher on Dec. 31, 2012
Ice fished the 29th... Tried deep, less deep, then the narrows.. 3 fish; 2 pike, 1 walleye. Lookin for perch.

by Jackfish on Dec. 8, 2012
Ice at Baptiste today was 9 inches. Did not stay to long weather was very cold.

by Greenbastard on Aug. 18, 2012
This lake has awesome Walleye fishing but the what's going on with the algae? I've been to 3 lakes over the past 2 weeks & there's blue-green algae floating around. I think I'm going to Touchwood next weekend to fish a lake that has clear water @ this time of the year & the fishing is fantastic. Good fishing, Your pal, the green bastard. 👍

by Bacn on Aug. 18, 2012
For this time of year baptiste lake is looking very good at leased in the narrows. Last week after that big rain the lake was turned up and you could see small blue algae. But we have been enjoying the water all summer.

by Cjrm99 on Aug. 16, 2012
Is the lake full of blue green algae? I heard the surface was like mud right now. Is this true?

by NSA on Aug. 12, 2011
lake higher than normal, lots of green and blue crap on the lake makeing it very hard to fish. Never seen the lake in that condition before just awful....Nits101 go to the south side of the lake at the mouth of the furthest south bay if you looking for perch... lots of pike and eyes there to.

by Nits101 on Jun. 3, 2011
